The Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act expands the use of DNA collection for criminal convictions.

The act provides funds for local areas that do not yet have the capacity for DNA testing. As a result of this, all 50 states now have laws mandating blood collection from people who are convicted of crimes.
