Southerners on New Ground (SONG) is founded as an intersectional LGBTQ+ organization that works to build coalitions between oppressed peoples throughout the U.S. South.

On their website they write: "We formed to build understanding of the connections between issues and oppressions, do multi-racial organizing, and develop strong relationships between people who could and should be allies."

SONG continues to lead foundational campaigns for economic and racial justice and LGBTQ+ liberation in the U.S. South, and to impact national organizing.
