This study, which is sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), and is conducted by American physicians and the University of Zimbabwe, gives experimental medication to 17,000 women without their consent or knowledge of the full extent of the research. One thousand babies will contract HIV/AIDS and die as a result.
