Feudalism consolidates wealth amongst landowners, and puts the responsibility for labor on workers, without their being able to buy property or accrue wealth. It is essentially a European form of sharecropping. It becomes culturally understood as part of the "divine order," meaning: "a system established by God that cannot be changed." This is the foundation of the British class system, which is a multigenerational system that will evolve to include both cultural and economic status. This system is largely what will shape the class structure of the United States.
